5 easy gin cocktails to make at home this summer!

Summer is nearly here, which means it’s nearly time for some refreshing drinks in the sun! If you’re a fan of gin, then you’re in luck. Gin is a versatile liquor that can be used in various tasty cocktails. Here are five gin cocktails that are perfect for summer and easy to make at home!

1. Gin Fizz

A Gin Fizz is an uncomplicated, fresh and light cocktail that is perfect for an afternoon in the sun. To make this cocktail, you just need 4 simple ingredients, gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and club soda. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add your gin, 15ml of lemon juice and one teaspoon of sugar. Shake and then strain into a glass filled with ice. Add club soda and garnish with a lemon slice.

2. Negroni

The Negroni is a classic Italian cocktail that is perfect for gin lovers. It is tasty and refreshingly bitter. It is made with one part gin, one part Vermouth Rosso and one part Campari garnished with an orange peel. Traditionally it is stirred, not shaken and is built over a lot of ice.

3. English Garden Cocktail

The English Garden Cocktail is made from quintessential British ingredients, perfect for an English summer. 50ml of gin, 25ml elderflower liqueur, 75ml apple juice, 10ml lime juice and cucumber ribbons to serve. This cocktail is easy to make and can be made into a jug for parties! 

4. Tom Collins

A Tom Collins is an old favourite that is essentially a sour cocktail lengthened with sparkling water. Delicious and simple! Fill a tall highball glass with ice, add 50ml of gin, 25ml lemon juice,12.5ml sugar syrup, sparkling water and garnish with a lemon wheel and a maraschino cherry.

5. Bramble Cocktail

More of a spring cocktail but can be enjoyed throughout any sunny months. Bramble Cocktails are made by shaking 50ml of gin, 25ml of lemon juice and 12.5ml of sugar syrup and strain into a glass filled with ice. Drizzle the crème de mure over the ice so that it bleeds through. Serve with a lemon wedge and blackberries
